Well worth a visit to a hidden gem
Gooderstone Water Gardens & Nature Trails的点评
点评：Having visited many gardens in the UK, I was surprised that I hadn’t heard of this one.
Whilst visiting relatives in the area, our friend , who had accompanied us told us of this garden which she had visited 30 years ago and we decided to visit.
Firstly, as others have said, the garden is not very well signposted – or advertised – but we found it without too much trouble. There is a parking area to the entrance of the property. When we arrived, there was an honesty box and a card machine For payment to enter – there was no one around. Although at the beginning of October (and plants were starting to die down), the garden was an unexpected gem! It was reminiscent of Monet‘s garden in Paris (which I have visited) with lots of little bridges crossing streams and ponds. Beautiful bushes, shrubs and trees everywhere and the foliage was just turning into its colours for autumn – absolutely beautiful. Wildlife abounded and we saw robins, Chiffchaff, a family of ducks and a heron! Just wonderful. So peaceful and beautiful with lots of tucked away places, hides and huts – so calming and can well imagine how glorious this must look in its summer finery!
Like other reviewers, we visited the tea shop and laughed when the lady behind the counter, when asked if they had cappuccino replied, “Indeed we don’t” in an outraged voice!! We settled for filter coffee - which was, to be fair, really nice - but would have tasted even better with a side serving of good manners!
We are planning on a return visit next year, perhaps to take advantage of the music and open air theatre evenings which are held in the gardens. However think we will avoid the cafe next time!!

和其他评论者一样，我们也去了这家茶馆。当被问到柜台小姐有没有卡布奇诺时，她用一种愤怒的语气回答说：“没有”，我们笑了！我们点了滴滤咖啡——说实话，咖啡确实不错——但如果能再加点礼貌，味道会更好！
我们计划明年再来，或许可以去花园里欣赏音乐和露天剧场之夜。不过，下次我们还是别去了！
