Spectrum Sunstone Mine的点评
点评：I arrived late afternoon with my travel trailer. Met with Chris for a few minutes and he went and got Denise to talk to me about mining options. Denise was fantastic, walked me through the options and happily answered all of my questions. I chose the screened concentrate gravel where the pre-screen large rocks and sand out then dump the load by a screening table. Denise showed me how to screen for the sunstones and what to look for. I screened for about 2 hours then retired to my travel trailer. I screened for about 3 hours the next morning to finish my gravel pile. I had intended on digging in the pit for the 2nd half of the day, but two ladies near me said they had to leave and asked if I wanted the rest of their gravel pile, which they had only made a small dent in. I screened it for about 4 hours then asked Denise on how to grade the sunstones that I had found. She took the time to show me the different characteristics of the stones that made them more valuable. Was a great learning experience! The entire day and half was a great mining experience and I will definitely go back there next year! The other options that customers can do are pit digging (rock hammer digging in the basalt then screening the material extracted) or a belt run (basically the same processing they do to get sunstones via a front end loader dumps gravel into a large bin the washes the gravel as it slowly dumps onto a conveyor belt where customers pick out all the sunstones that run by in an hour). To folks that have never mined; screening and digging are physical activities in the elements. The belt run is not a lot of work but all other mining aspects and options are work but can be rewarding.
