点评:Triveni Sangam has its own influence in Hindu tradition which showcased in recent days during Maha Kumbh celebrations. I have travelled to Prayag with my friend during end of Dec-24. During that time Maha Kumbh arrangements were going on. After visiting and knowing the importance of holy Dip again I had been there in the month of Feb-25 for Maha Kumbh Holy Dip.
This Prayagraj Sangam is the place where Yamuna and Ganga river joins which everyone can see and the unknown secret is Saraswathi River which meets here invisible. The confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi together is called as Triveni Sangam.
How to Reach here:
Anyone can reach here by own Vehicle. if you are travelling by Bus/Train/Flight then e-Ricksha/Private Travels are available from all areas of City. e-Ricksha people charges 20 INR from Bus stand/Railway Station to Prayagraj Sangam Boating point.
Once you reach to Boating point there are boats available on Sharing bases or you can hire individually. Sharing is 100 -150 INR per person. If you hire individual boat then they charge @ 1000-1500 INR. its depend on your Negotiation skills.
Important Things to know about Sangam:
1. There are people who try to cash out from you by telling you to do some Pooja's. So ne prepare which Pooja you want to perform. don't get influence by their words.
2. At Sangam you can clearly identify Ganga and Yamuna River by seeing the water color. Ganga river water is in light pale yellow color where as Yamuna water appears in Dark green color. The Sight of the Ganga's pale yellow water merging with the Green water of the Yamuna is a spectacular sight to See and Enjoy the moment.
3. As per Hindu mythology, holy Dip here in this water said to wash all sins and free one from the cycle of rebirth. It is sacred bathing place for Hindus.
4. Triveni Sangam is unique, hosting three types of Kumbh melas. Every 12 years this place holds Kumbh Mela and every 6 years Ardh Kumbh and after 12 Kumbh mela's it holds Maha Kumbh which happens once in every 144 years.
5. The Magh mela is held every year in Prayagraj, which celebrates during the Hindu month of Magh. The Makar Sankranti bathing festival marks the start of this event and the Maha shivaratri bathing festival marks the end of the event.
Best time to visit:
This Sangam can be visited any time during the year. however winter is the right time to visit as Summer is very hot here and during rainy season water levels will be high.
