点评:My husband, son and I were in the Niagara region this past weekend visiting family and on Monday decided to go to three different wineries to check them out.
We'd never been to Ridgepoint before, nor had our guests who live not far from there. We entered the tasting room but there was no one there. We waited for ten minutes and then stuck our head in the dining room. There was a woman staff member there but she didn't look up nor did she acknowledge our presence.
So we then walked out on to the patio and there was a woman staff person talking to one of the three occupied tables. We sat down and again had another good ten minute wait before she came over to see what we wanted. We asked if we could do a wine flight on the patio and proceeded to order it.
Because we had to wait so long to get a wine flight we really didn't want to chance ordering lunch because we could only imagine how long that would take! But we did see the items that came out from the kitchen for other guests and they did look good.
Again, another long wait and a gentleman came out with two of the three wine flights we'd ask for. He said he'd be right back but he wasn't. Not wanting the white wines to get warm we were pretty much finished the two flights by the time the final one showed up. When you're visiting such a place as a group it's nice to be able to do wine flights together so you can compare notes. The staff person apologized for the wait but said other guests were paying so he was delayed.
Begrudingly, the wines were really good. We would have purchased some but were so ticked off at the really poor service that we didn't.
I suspect they were short staffed. We'll go back another time and hopefully the experience will be substantially better.
Out of the three wineries we visited that day, we awarded Ridgepoint the distinction of 'worst service' and 'best wines'.
Disappointing.
