点评:Sort of a history museum, but with a sense of humor. The focus is not so much on the history of cleaning as it is about cleaning products, lots of them. It is a very large and spacious building with many, many old toilets, vacuums, carpet sweepers, brooms..... But with so much space it didn't feel cluttered or cramped and the displays are informative and entertaining, and stir some old memories. Watch some of his videos of when he went on speaking engagements, so fun. The museum presents many stories, some personal, some historic and all put together with a sense of humor.
One floor is very interactive, geared for kids.
We spent about 3 hours, longer than expected, looking, reading, watching.....
We met with Don Aslet, the museum creator, who has retired from his cleaning business but enjoys being at the museum and meeting visitors. We chatted a bit about his many visits to NY (we are from there).
No suggestions for actual cleaning/decluttering, but he has written about 40 books, so it may be in there, somewhere.
