One of the Prettiest Monsoon Treks in Karnataka

点评：Recently got the opportunity to visit Kodachadri. Initially we had planned to trek from the forest check post to Hidlumane Falls and cross it to ultimately reach the Kodachadri Peak. But unfortunately, there were some issue with the forest permits and we got to separately take a jeep ride to the summit and separately trek till Hidlumane Falls.
We reached our homestay early morning and after an hour or so, we got picked up by our jeep. Our jeep had to wait for a few minutes at the forest check-post and then we set off on our thrilling jeep ride. The ride took almost 1.5 hours to ride to reach the peak's parking and from there we had to trek for 1 km or 2 through the misty mountains to reach the peak. The peak had a small temple and a beautiful area to hangout with your group. If visiting in monsoon, the view around will be mostly blocked by the clouds but the misty mountains will appear truly magical.
We got to spend around 30 min before we hiked down and our jeep drove us back to the base point. After that, we were guided through a different route to Hidlumane waterfalls. We trekked for almost 2 or 3 km through dense forest till we reached the checkpost and another 1.5 km led us to the waterfalls. The waterfalls was falling in several tiers and it was extremely challenging to cross the slippery boulders to reach the final tire of the falls. I strongly advise people to be a part of a professional group and wear proper trekking gear while trying to cross this section of the trek as a simple slip can lead to serious accidents here. We spent some beautiful moments getting drenched in the waterfalls and finally climbed down the treacherous boulders to reach back to the checkpost.
