点评:If you are interested in the history of slavery, Elmina Castle is a must see. This is not a joyful experience, but yet one that is a worthwhile visit. The Castle was the largest of the several slave embarkation points along Ghana's coast. As a reasonably well preserved landmark, there are guides available once you get there. After an hour or two of walking around the castle, you will be thinking about how this human cruelty ever happened. The exit known as the "doorway of no return" will prompt your thoughts to families with loved ones, children included, who, after months in dungeon quarters, were split apart and never saw each other again. The only downside was the drive to get there. With road disarray and construction, it took 3.5 hours to go 100 miles with a hired driver. At least the continuous scenes of life along the roadside provided a view that was never boring.
