Washita Battlefield National Historic Site的点评
点评：Visitor Center has nice little museum in new and spacious building. Battlefield walking tour takes you around the battleground with the aid of an audio tour you can access on your phone.
Definitely worth a trip if you’re in the area. However, I’m not sure I’d recommend you go out of your way to visit unless you’re a National Park System completist, or you’re very interested in this particular topic of history. The Park Service has done a great job with the site, but they admit that historians and archaeologists aren’t certain where things were exactly (even the river has significantly changed course since the time of the battle).
I spent about 45 minutes at the museum reading everything, and then about another 45 minutes walking the battlefield loop trail with the audio guide. So I’d recommend at least 90 minutes here total if you want to fully appreciate the site.
