点评:Great visit and one I’d recommend, yes it’s expensive to enter (450 SCR per person) but due to the conservation and status they have I think it’s a fair price.
We did the self guided option, you’re given a map and this was fine especially as there’s plenty of information signage as you go round the site.
The private guides hover at the entrance offering their service, which is normally lasts 1 hour and you play them directly if you want to use them. You will need cash for this service. The guide waiting at the entrance when we arrived was initially saying he charged 1000 rupees, when we declined, he immediately lowered it to 700, then swiftly to 600 without any haggling. So if you do want this service make sure you haggle the price down to whatever you are prepared to pay.
We went the full circuit round the site, it’s hilly and uneven in places so you need to wear closed shoes. There are coco de mers everywhere!!! We were delighted to see the elusive black parrots, just listen out for their bird song, remain quiet and eventually you’ll see them.
I’d recommend visiting in the afternoon, we came at 2pm and we hardly saw anyone going round, it felt we had the place to ourselves. When we passed the car park in the morning it was absolutely heaving, so I can imagine it would have been a very different experience. The car park is opposite and is easy to park.
