Coton Manor Gardens的点评
点评：Coton Manor is a real gem of a place. Set in green, rolling Northamptonshire countryside, the sloping garden is relatively small but makes up for it in the variety and imaginative skill of planting. The overall vibe is of a cottage garden along with large ponds, some mature trees, a woodland-edge area and many interesting statues and other features. The lower lawns are inhabited by a charming tribe of multi-coloured chickens and a small flock of flamingos.
The planting around the manor itself is no less gorgeous and compliments the beautiful old golden-stone house perfectly. The house is a private home and you cannot go inside but it makes a stunning backdrop to the garden.
There is an extensive area of nursery, with many plants for sale and there's a small gift shop.
The charming, tree shaded stable yard is home to the excellent café, which serves hot lunches as well as toasties, sandwiches etc. alongside a very tempting array of homemade cake.
I ate a jacket potato with chilli con carne. Not only was it of vast proportions and very generously laden with filling, but it was possibly the tastiest jacket spud I've eaten. Proper crispy skin and all (which I had thought was a thing of the past)!
A really lovely visit all round.
