点评:The temple itself is very impressive and interesting.
HOWEVER
Be on your guard as soon as you approach the temple.
We were about to leave our shoes with all the others outside the temple and some guy says to us "you should not leave them here, your shoes will be stolen". He told us to use the free storeroom.
At the storeroom we were told it costs 100Rs. We thought, that is OK, it's not a lot of money and they are safe.
We then entered the temple and the same guy appears and asked us to follow him to check into the temple. He asked us to sign a book to register as guests. At no point did he say he was a tour guide. He started to talk to us about Hinduism and its beliefs and asking us about where we were from. He seemed like a nice guy just having a chat. He then started to show us around the temple and telling us stuff about it. All very interesting and we started to realise he was going to ask for money.
We were first asked to give some money to be given to feeding the poor in the temple. We thought that's fair enough and the temple ask these guys to guide us to get a donation for the temple's work - fair enough.
The a few minutes later he says that the tour is over and we need to pay at least 2,000Rs each for the tour. We did not pay this much but felt forced into paying something even though we had not asked for a guided tour.
The guy was not happy and followed us all the way out of the temple telling us what terrible people we were for wasting his time.
From reading the reviews here and seeing how this guy was treated in the temple by other staff members it is clear that the temple allow and condone this behaviour.
It left a bd taste in the mouth and if you visit, please either say NO to these "tour guides" as soon as you enter or be prepared to overpay for a short tour.
