美因茨老城的点评
点评：There are so many great things to see in Basel; however, much of your time will be spent and many of the things you will see will be inside the Medieval walled city of the Old Town. Here you have the red sandstone Basel Minster where a Papal Council elected a Pope and Erasmus preached, the red frescoed Town Hall built in 1500 after Basel became an independent city and member of the Swiss Confederacy, and the Middle Bridge that was the first bridge across the Rhine and allowed Basel to dominate the trade of the Upper Rhine as well as so many buildings, platz, fountains and public works of art. For our two day stay in Basel not all of time was spent in the historic but a great majority of our time and experiences were here. Basel's Old Town is much of why you come to see the city and well worth the visit. Before our visit, I really did not think that much about Basel or expect much, but after our visit, this was one of my favorite places that I could not recommend more.
