very good museum, call before going for the house tour.

点评：The museum was very interesting and nicely put together, took about an hour for us to read all the information and see all the artifacts and pictures. I could have stayed there longer but the others had read all they needed to. There were some videos and that helped too.
The only complaint I have is that there was no tour for the Elm Spring mansion. I had called earlier in the day to make sure a tour guide would be available and they told me to be there before 2:30 which was the last tour. When we got there before 2:30 we were told that the tour guide went home. We had visitors from out of town and it was their last day before they had to move on. I was so disappointed but they said that he was a volunteer so they didn't want to demand that he stay.
I understand about using volunteers but if the woman that I spoke to would have asked the tour guide when I called, if he was able to stay for the last tour, perhaps he would have stayed. Unless it was an emergency and he just couldn't, of course I would understand. In all fairness, the woman I spoke to was new to the job.
Perhaps they need to review their procedures.
