点评:Small and well maintained park for revolutionary war battle of Oriskany in 1777.
Free admission and parking. Park open dawn to dusk daily. Visitor center and restrooms open and staffed Wednesday through Sunday.
The main monument and visitor center are a short walk from parking lot on an ADA compliant path.
The visitor center has a tiny museum and a small kiosk that has a menu of short historical films to watch. The battlefield trail starts at the visitor center and goes through the ravine where the fight occured. This path is short, occassionally steep and not ADA. Maps for the trail can be found at the visitor center or at a kiosk adjacent to parking lot. There are a few plaques and small monuments along this trail. The trail is about 1/2 mile long one way.
There is a shaded picnic area next to the parking area.
We were expecting a larger park for such a critical battle and were amazed that we were the only ones here on a sunny Sunday afternoon in summer. We saw eveything here and had a picnic lunch in less than 3 hours.
