Beautiful waterfront area with beaches, fishing pier, shops, restaurants and a touch of history

点评：We stumbled upon Yorktown Beach during our travels from Jamestown, VA to Delaware. We decided to check out Yorktown due to historical significance. We were not disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised with the downtown area and beach area. Here there was FREE parking for up to 3 hours in addition to a beautiful riverwalk, a few quaint stops, restaurants, a small beach area, fishing pier, the Schooner Alliance Sailboat tours dock and Cornwallis' Cave. You could easily walk to the American Revolution Museum from downtown. Also there were FREE trolleys running here that you could use to go the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center, the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, Yorktown Beach and Riverwalk Landing.
We probably spent 2.5 hours or so here just taking in the sights and having lunch. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the area and ease of access to the beach. I also liked that there was a picnic area nearby in addition to several restaurants. I thought it was really neat how the town was down below the residential area that was high up on the cliff/elevated area of land. I would visit here again if in the area.
