Volo Bog State Natural Area的点评
点评：Absolutely beautiful! At the end of July there were so many flowers blooming. I saw rabbits and chipmunks, birds (but heard way more than I saw).
Trails are in good condition, on this trail I went from fields of cattails to fields of flowers surrounding me to deep woods with gnarly trees to views of the bog and back again. Mix of dirt/grass wide and narrow paths with some boardwalk.
Outhouses were acceptable, but the visitor center has restrooms inside. The visitor center was great, as were the employees, cute little gift shop.
Make sure to use bug spray - on your face, too, which I did not do, unless you like being dived-bombed by gnats and other pests. Other than that, they left me alone.
Uncrowded on this weekday morning, maybe because it was cloudy with rain threatening. I was glad for the clouds - those open fields might be pretty brutal in the summer sun.
If you've never stroked a cattail (the plant!), do it - so soft and velvety!
