This place does not need any introduction. Located in the heart of Mangalore city, it is an ideal place to do your morning (peaceful) or evening (crowded) walks/jogs. There is ample parking facility outside (in the mornings).
Take one round inside the kadri park and you have completed 1000 steps! Yaas!
There are also machines to work out for adults.The park has slides, swings, see saws etc for kids to play. The park is equipped with CCTV too. After its recent renovation, the walkway path outside also is wide and beautiful with trees around. Lots of streetfood options in the evenings available like charmuri, chaats, hot corn, kobbu juice, chocobar ice cream.
Due to the rainy season, the place is even more green! I do notice workers daily cropping the weeds or plucking them out. They are doing their best fo maintain it.
I hear they have a new train ride post 4 pm priced at 25 for adults and 15 for kids and is a popular attraction for children as the train takes people around the park compound.
There are benches placed all around but ofcourse at present with the rains it is all wet. There are parts of the park that have a shade or roof to take shelter till the drizzles stop.
Ofcourse this place has a special place is most of the nineties kids! Weekends would be spent either at the beach or Deer park as we knew it then. Those joy rides in the chu cbu train, the walks around the garden, that fascinating "king cobra" den. IYKYK. (All shifted now to Pilikula).
