If you purchase a ticket through another airline (for example American Airlines) but the flight is operated by Air Tahiti Nui, you are unable to select or even buy a seat. Air Tahiti Nui tells you to contact American Airlines, but American sends you back to Air Tahiti Nui because the flight is operated by them and check-in is handled by Air Tahiti Nui. You end up going in circles with no solution.
The result is a lot of confusion, wasted time and frustration, with no airline taking responsibility. This shows a serious lack of coordination and professionalism.
For a long-haul international airline, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I would think twice before booking again.
