The Stopham Winery Experience

点评：The vineyard is fairly remote and a £10 local cab ride from Pulborough station, cab back to White Hart for lunch and from White Hart back to Pulborough all cost the minimum £10. A veritable gold mine.
The website probably needs to supply a bit more detail if you do not walk along the main road which in parts has no pavement. Boots are a must for the walk around the vines. The creature comforts at the winery are pretty sparce especially, as we did, arriving by train 1 hour prior to tour start as not knowing what to expect. They do not cater for early arrivals except some bench seats which offer no cover from rain or hot sun.
Simon was very helpful and accommodating with the booking process. Our start was a little disjointed as a large party arrived late for the tour. Adderley took us around the vines and we found her extremely interesting and knowledgeable making one appreciate the complexities of growing , nurturing, protecting & harvesting and the intricate processes involved inside the winery itself. The stand-up tastings were not overly generous but nevertheless very tasty and sufficient to appreciate the quality of the Stopham offering. We had the lunch 1.30pm offering included in our tickets at the White Hart which was absolutely delicious and gratefully received after a long journey from 8am that Saturday morning. a far more informative website and a little more comfort, would have gone a long way to make the tour so much more enjoyable but thanks for the experience.
