点评:The Lao Art Museum is gobsmacking. My jaw hit the floor numerous times, from the entry and beyond. There are so many art pieces they barely know what to do with them, so in some rooms you may well be in a carved tree forest. Look beyond the typical and typical religious pieces and you’ll see the most extraordinary sculptures of faces.
Tip: when you arrive at the museum, if you are on your own like I was, say no to “walking”. They’ll then sell you a ticket with a buggy ride across the bridge. You want this because a) it’s damn hot walking across and b) the studs on the bridge are popping out all over the place and trip you up. Best avoid a fall.
Another tip is that they don’t really have a store, but to the first gallery on the right, they do have merchandise for sale near the door. Grab your souvenir, postcard, or tshirt here.
