点评：The owner decided-after seeing us ride for approximately two minutes in the school (being told to trot for 30 seconds) that we were all too “unbalanced” to go on a beach ride. I was told my stirrups were too short (they weren’t but I think fault finding was the point). I was then switched onto an elderly mare for reasons that weren’t clear to me. My partner was initially put on an even more elderly gelding that was clearly lame at trot “to see if he could ride”. The horses are riding school cobs that are dead to the leg and mouth and permanently on the forehand. I would defy John Whittaker to look good on one of them in two minutes in the school. I have ridden all my life, and had my own horses, and both of my companions have race ridden - albeit years ago - one of them was riding racehorses on the gallops daily until last year. It was ridiculous - we were all capable of riding these horses at a gallop on a beach. The horses are perfectly suited to novices or trekkers, but we paid £90 (reduced to £75 when we were told we couldn’t go to the beach) to shuffle in single file on a ride where we were allowed to canter a few short strides in places the horses obviously canter every single time and therefore barely need riding. It was a pretty patronising experience and although the scenery is beautiful if you want an actual riding experience rather than a nose to tail trekking experience I would not recommend.
