点评：We are lucky enough to live only a few miles from Hepple and chose to visit while our son was visiting us from his new home in Western Canada. We had an absolutely brilliant day! After coffee and an introductory chat, we started with guided walk up the hill, enjoying the views and spotting loads of wildlife along the way - a Hummingbird Hawkmoth and a Fallow Stag were a couple of the high points. Richard is a wonderfully personable guide. Clearly passionate about Hepple and its place in things, Richard's knowledge of all things natural is obvious and generously shared. After an excellent locally-sourced lunch, we were out again exploring ponds and wet areas (more Dragonflies and Damselflies than you could shake a stick at) before another little hill walk to see, amongst many other things, the wild Juniper bushes whose berries are destined for Hepple Gin - made on site by the hugely enthusiastic and knowledgable distiller who took time out from his duties to explain his magic to the three of us.
We had an absolutely brilliant day - whether you have to travel five miles, or five thousand miles to get to Hepple, book yourself a day in the Wilds with Richard!
