Stunning Location and Quirky Accommodation – But Some Basics Missing

点评：We recently stayed at The Temple Folly and overall had a lovely time. The setting is truly stunning, with fantastic views over the valley towards Bolton Castle. The outdoor seating area was peaceful and private, and the wood-fired hot tub was a real treat – perfect for soaking in the surroundings.
The accommodation itself was quirky and full of character, which added to the charm. It’s a very secluded spot, ideal for getting away from it all.
That said, we did run into a few practical issues that made things a little frustrating:
• The listing stated that there was an oven and a microwave, but there was neither. This meant much of the food we brought had to go back home unused.
• Only 8 matches were provided for lighting the hot tub and fire pit – not nearly enough, especially when trying to light fires outdoors in the wind.
• The washing-up liquid was practically empty, and there was no handwash in the bathroom – just an empty bottle.
• The outside dustbin was already full from previous guests, leaving us with nowhere to put our own rubbish.
These are small things that are easy to fix, and with a bit more attention to detail, this place could be outstanding. The location and charm are certainly there – it just needs a few essentials to match.
