点评：I feel the booking process was deceptive—searching for the Faroe Islands showed me a van in Portugal, and despite cancelling within minutes, I was still charged a non‑refundable fee supposedly for their “IT platform.”
I am very dissatisfied with my experience with roadsurfer.com. I specifically searched for camper vans in the Faroe Islands, yet the site showed me an option in Faro, Portugal. Only after making the partial payment (50% upfront) did I realize the booking was for a completely different country. This feels deceptive, as the search results should clearly reflect the location I entered.
I had booked the “Flex Option,” which clearly stated “Free Cancellation.” I cancelled within two minutes of booking—literally immediately after spotting the mistake. Despite cancelling almost instantly, roadsurfer told me I still needed to pay the remaining 50% before any refund could be processed. This makes the “free cancellation” promise meaningless and highly misleading.
They also claimed the €99 fee was non‑refundable because it supposedly covers their IT platform costs. This explanation is not stated anywhere during the booking flow. Every attempt I made to request a full refund was declined, leaving me no choice but to file a claim with my credit card company.
Another issue: roadsurfer is not the actual rental company but acts as a broker. The booking comes with the usual vague “or similar” vehicle description, which adds even more uncertainty. Booking directly with the local provider is far more transparent and secure.
Overall, I cannot recommend roadsurfer. My experience felt misleading, unfair, and unnecessarily difficult.
