点评:We recently stayed at Meadow Hut for a family reunion and overall had a good time, but a few things let the experience down.
We booked what was advertised as “exclusive use” of the hut for our family of six (including a toddler) at $700 a night plus trail fees. However, it turns out “exclusive” only means overnight. During the day, other groups regularly came in to make lunch, use the water containers, and even cook with the gear. One group left dirty dishes behind for us to deal with. It didn’t really feel private, which was frustrating given the cost.
The water supply was frozen (which we expected in winter and managed fine), but again it was frustrating to see day visitors using up the containers meant for overnight guests. The solar was also broken, so no lighting at night – not a huge deal for us as we had head torches, but still worth noting.
The location itself is beautiful and we did enjoy our time as a family, but the experience didn’t match the price tag or what “exclusive use” suggests. If expectations were clearer and day visitor access better managed, it would make the stay much better value.
