A Fun Private Beach Experience with DCL
Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point的点评
点评：We visited Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point during our most recent cruise. This is a private beach for Disney Cruise Line. Our day was sunny and warm with some clouds.
First things first, when you arrive at Lookout Cay you have a long walk from the ship to a tram station across a pier built by Disney to protect the coral reef. It looks worse than it actually is, and you can walk across it in about ten minutes.
Next, you have a tram ride to the beach. This doesn't take too long. While you are on the tram, you will hear some audio narration about the island, animals, and plants.
Crowd size is largely dictated by the ship. We were on the Destiny and brought a full ship with us. That said, the island didn't seem to crowded. We hung out at Serenity Bay, which was the adult area, and it was fairly quiet and less crowded than the family beach.
There are a few places to pick up souvenirs near the tram station by the beach. T-shirts, coffee mugs, magnets, sand toys, and the like are available. Lunch is provided on the island. If you are familiar with Castaway Cay, the quality is about the same. Again, we were hanging out in the adult area, so we ate there and enjoyed it.
I had heard a lot about how wonderful the sand is at the beach. That seemed to be true. However, it was early October while we were there and seaweed had washed up on the beach making things not quite as picturesque as one might hope. It wasn't enough to ruin the vibe.
As with most things Disney, the staff was friendly and helpful. There were servers at the beach willing to bring you an adult beverage (for an additional fee). The staff at the dining areas was friendly. Also, there are some cultural events (The Junkaroo parade) and those were fun.
It is definitely worth the visit!
