Gorgeous Farmhouse Writing Retreat in the heart of the Somerset countryside

点评：Thornfalcon is a unique gem! It is one of my new favourite London get away finds - only 1 hour 40 mins from Paddington! I had the immense pleasure of spending a weekend there on a writing retreat with friends, and everything about it was simply magical.
From the moment we arrived, the welcome from our hosts was warm, thoughtful, and heartfelt — setting the tone for what became a wonderful and restorative stay. The accommodation is gorgeous: beautifully appointed rooms, plush linens, and an atmosphere of quiet luxury that makes you feel instantly at home.
The surroundings are utterly breathtaking. Nestled in the rolling hills of Somerset, the property offers expansive views of the countryside, perfect for early morning reflection or late afternoon wine tasting. We enjoyed a peaceful walk around the grounds, explored the onsite winery, and learned all about the craft of English wine and cider making — which was genuinely impressive.
What really sets Thornfalcon apart is the thoughtful touches: nooks and crannies ideal for reading or journalling, a swimming pond for a refreshing dip, and wellness facilities including a hot tub and sauna that truly elevate the experience.
The food deserves a review all of its own. From vibrant farm-to-fork salads to exquisitely prepared farmhouse dinners served family-style, every meal was a delight. Mornings brought homemade marmalade, flaky croissants, fresh juices, and generous, nourishing breakfasts that set us up beautifully for the day.
This was more than just a weekend away — it was an immersive experience of calm, creativity, and connection with nature. I left feeling rejuvenated and deeply grateful. I genuinely cannot recommend Thornfalcon highly enough.
