点评:A large and diverse collection of aircraft and associated munitions, equipment and other artefacts, including Cold War cockpits and complete jets, plus some WW1 aircraft and an adjacent history room. Some especially interesting aircraft including an Avro 707 scale model for testing aspects of the emerging Vulcan, and a P1A prototype of the EE Lightning. Many of the jet & helicopter cockpits are open to view and sit in if desired, all very relaxed and without requiring guides to be present: much more accessible than other museums and a very welcome means to really experience and interact, while marvelling at the vintage analogue complexity. The friendly and knowledgeable guides are readily available to lend a hand and answer any questions, plus grant access to the Comet C2 nose section parked outside the hanger. The main displays can be explored in a couple of hours but to examine everything in detail would take more than a day. All-in-all a great museum well worth a visit.
