点评:We were lucky to find this place when our boys were small but hadn't been for maybe 5-6 years. They used to love it but probably didn't appreciate the history or the engineering then.
We went back today and WOW, it has got even better! More aeroplanes and helicopters, in fact both hangars are effectively full. The exhibit my eldest (15) and I liked the most was the Lancaster Bomber cockpit. The detail is stunning, the radio operator's table, the navigators map table and the bomb guidance "cradle" below the pilot. Just brilliantly re-built.
And of course they have wonderful volunteers on hand with more knowledge about how it all works and what the crews went through than you'd imagine. My eldest got to sit in a jet with working flaps, he's still talking about it this evening!
It's SUPERB. The people running this place should be very proud of what they've created and if you've any slight interest in military aircraft or operations do visit. At about £30 for a family of 4 it's a bargain. We were there for 1.5 hours but I could have spent longer reading all the detail and talking to more people.
