点评:Like to support local venues but unfortunately have had to down grade last nights visit. Went to see Katherine Ryan and the venue was at capacity our seats were at the very back of the gallery. Visually there was nothing wrong with the seating but acoustically we both found it challenging and only caught half of what was being said obviously this impacted massively on the night. Can I please request management sit at the back of the gallery for sound checks to see if the quality is ok?
At the interval we were told toilets were downstairs, many stairs (lift available) on arrival in the main entrance the queue snaked to the entrance door. Only one toilet for a full house? After an age a member of staff arrived and took a chunk of the queue to two further toilet block further in the building. Members of staff should be in the foyer directing the public not leaving them to their own devices. Staff unobtrusive uniforms made them difficult to locate. In an emergency I doubt the theatres ability to cope.
Traffic and parking another issue. Trying to find parking when the event is at capacity was not easy and the walk back to the venue and then back to the car was substantial. My partner has mobility issues over distance. Someone in high viz giving guidance would help. On leaving the carpark we were in there were no 'exit' signs so had to guess the way to leave. Several carparks advised for university use only so I did not park there however noted several people did. Guidance on if this is ok outside of university hours would help. The queues to leave were staggering. Gridlock.
I am guessing this mainly boils down to money and therefore lack of staff however even temporary signage for exit direction & toilets etc would be useful and removeable at the end of an event to be used again?
I want Northcott to succeed local venues are important but a few adjustments when events are at capacity are required to make a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
