A beautiful (if a little noisy!) campsite
Sumners Ponds的点评
点评：My family and I had a lovely stay at Sumner Ponds. We chose to stay in the Bluebell Park and my son enjoyed playing in the park and exploring the grounds. The shower and toilet blocks were clean and the showers worked well- we never had to wait to use the showers which was great.
The whole of the Sumner Ponds site is lovely with the added bonus of The Cafe by the Lake. We had a nice drink by the lake one evening and a delicious breakfast one morning. The staff in reception were really friendly and informative when our son wanted to do some fishing. You’re also able to buy food to feed their cows which our son enjoyed.
The only slight downside is that if you’re looking for a campsite completely in nature and in the peace and quiet, this wouldn’t be for you. There is currently building works for a new housing development taking place right next to the campsite- work starts at 8am and goes on until about 4pm each week day. It’s not awful but don’t expect to be having your breakfast to the sounds of birds and nature more jack hammers and diggers! We were made aware of this when we were booking online so it didn’t come as a surprise.
For us, we chose Sumner Ponds for convenience as it’s only 30 minutes up the road and we weren’t looking for completely seclusion- it wouldn’t put us off staying as the site was great and the facilities were great too- we will most likely return next summer (hopefully when the building work is complete!)
