Excellent campground for Huntsville area

点评：We stayed at Monte Sano State Park for 5 nights and this is our 178th stop. We used this stop as a jumping off point to Huntsville and to enjoy the park. The initial registration via the website was easy to use but only receive one email leading up to your stay. The drive up the mountain was fine with our large motorhome as long as you take the route indicated in their correspondence. The check in process was super quick and appreciate the coded entry. The biggest challenge was maneuvering the rig into our site as the car across the street made it very tight and the one way roads are narrow. The site sloped down in the front so it took a bit to level it and had large gravel with landscape timbers around it. The utilities were located in a good position - we had full hook ups where there just 21 in the park. The park is heavily wooded and cool on a hot day. Nice space between you and your neighbors. It is a good place to reconnect with nature, get in a great hike and is quiet/peaceful. And in mid-May, no bugs. Overall, would rate a 4.7 and would stay here again in the future. Another excellent state park in Alabama. Connectivity: Verizon (not really); T-Mobile (227 down/1.86 up); park WiFi next to office (9.8 down/2.4 up); 50 channels over the air.
