点评:I've waited 14 years to do the TPT and finally got to do it for a charity bike riding event done over four days.
To day the TPT is beguiling is an understatement. The thing myself and the other riders noticed is, everywhere on the Trail is different. Being up the Pennines with the stunning valley views isn't the same as being down a sandy road by the Mersey, which isn't the same as the country lanes en route to Hornsea which isn't the same as the 'cultural hub' of central Hull.
It is a fantastic ride and an utterly compelling adventure that you have to experience for yourself. However I would recommend doing it as a trio as we did get attacked on a bridge near Warrington - fortunately we were warned ahead of time that ruffians will try to steal your bike. So don't go solo, I would say.
In terms of hotels, there are loads and a lot of them are cyclist friendly (The Wishing Well in Selby, various Premier Inns along the trail). In terms of difficulty, the area between Stockport and Penistone is incredibly difficult but aside from that, the rest of the trail is mainly gentle with the occasional steep hill (one near Hull comes to mind).
I can go on and on but the best thing to recommend is, experience it for yourself...
