点评:We have visited il Cocco, and many other wineries in the Brunello/Montalcino area, over the years. However, we keep coming back (and bringing friends and family) to il Cocco. The personal touch, depth of knowledge, patience and willingness to answer questions, the strict adherence to the wholly organic agriculture practices, along with their sense of spirit and willingness to experiment and try new things but still keep to the old as well, are what bring us back again and again. Every visit is a bit different, and for the better.
And then there's the wine. By FAR this is our preferred producer--not only for the Brunello but also the Rosso, the Sfancul (!) and of course, the Laila. The stories behind their labels are always fun, so make sure to ask. The fact that this small winery continues to thrive year after year after year (even despite a catastrophic setback a couple of years ago), speaks to their passion and dedication to mastering the craft not only for their customers, but more importantly for themselves and their obvious sense of responsibility and pride in putting out superior products,
