Little Swan Lake Winery的点评
点评：I visited this winery over a decade ago. I remember the visit well. It was one of the last things I did with my mother, a wine lover, before she passed away. If the wines I sampled had been as bad as the wines I tried this week, I’d have remembered and not returned.
I tried four wines, two red and two white. The reds were, simply, undrinkable. The first white was little better. I then asked to try the sweetest white wine they had—I do not generally drink sweet wines, but thought I could give it as a gift. I did not like it, but I left with a bottle of Gewürztraminer.
The host was quite nice and accommodating. The tasting room was full of t-shirts and things to buy. It was dimly lit and lacked the ambiance of the first visit.
Iowa has some lovely local wineries. Unfortunately, at least this year, this isn’t one of them.
