点评:This location was absolutely AMAZING. Even when looking at pictures, it's hard to grasp what the tides look like and imagine that in just six short hours, they will come up tremendously.
We started by climbing the stairs to the top of the lighthouse, which offered great views and a wonderful photo op of the tides. There is interesting historical information on the first and second floors of the lighthouse itself.
Of course the real star of the park is the tides. We just happen to arrive at low tide and we were able to walk out easily 1/4 mile before we were met with the water. We were staying next door at Shangri-La cottages, and they provided us mud boots to wear while we explored the ocean's floor. We found several tide pools, well past the island that sits just at the entrance to the water's edge. Getting down to the water is easy with about twenty stairs as well as a few stairs carved into the rock. It is an easy climb.
Sunsets are amazing, so be sure to be close to the water for that event. We have several wonderful photos of the sunset. Be sure that shells are empty when you pick them up as there are many hermit crabs and periwinkle shells that are inhabited.
Without a doubt, this was my favorite spot on our Nova Scotia vacation. So glad we stayed two nights at Shangri-La so we could enjoy the park for two days at different times while still exploring the area.
