Wonderful adapted cooking class for vegetarians
Langkawi Cooking School at Buluh & Tebing Organic Farm的点评
点评:As lifelong vegetarians, wherever we travel in the world, we like to take part in an authentic, hands-on cookery class to learn how to cook like the locals do. And so we found ourselves at the Langkawi Cooking School and associated organic farm, high up in the beautiful rainforest.
After leaving our first dish to marinade, we were taken on a tour of the farm to learn about and sample a few of the vegetables and fruit that are grown on the farm. Warning: the chillis are seriously hot :) 🤣
During our 3+ hour class we cooked up Tempe Satay (on a mini barbecue) with Peanut Sauce, Mee Goreng (Fried Yellow Noodles), Pumpkin and Coconut Cream Soup and traditional Onde-Onde dessert.
At no time were we hurried and, as our class was shared with a fellow traveller, we spent much of the time in between cooking talking freely with them as well as Ina the chef and Rose who runs the school. To us, it was a faultless afternoon in a tranquil setting. We left feeling somewhat full!
There is no doubt we will cook up some of the dishes on our return so many thanks to all those involved.
Transport was arranged for us at an additional cost from our hotel near Cenang beach.
