点评:Just recently opened to the public after a £4.9 million restoration , this is a very welcome addition to the visitor attractions at John O’ Groats. Uniquely it’s the last functioning water-powered mill left in Caithness. Built in 1901, it was still operational until 2001 - grinding oats and bere with the original machinery installed a century before. The mill’s been very sensitively renovated & refurbished for educational purposes, with interesting information boards laid out, a small art gallery , a shop and snack area, and an outdoor viewing balcony overlooking the tumbling waters of the Burn of Duncansby - essential to the mill’s function. It’s also expected to be utilised as a social community hub and cultural centre.
There’s a car-park beside it - but we enjoyed the 15 minute walk coastal path along from the harbour.

旁边有一个停车场,但我们很喜欢从港口沿着海岸小路步行 15 分钟。
