点评:We parked near Station Beach and walked along the sand to the paths up to the lighthouse. There are two main paths one The Barrenjoey Track which is has few steps and a steady incline to the top, which is the easier of the two for the not so fit. We came back down the step path named the Smugglers Track. Both provide excellent views of the natural flora and birdlife along this headland. We saw a number of Kookaburras and Parrots also a number of rock formations in the sand stones due to the weathering.
The views form the top of the head land around the lighthouse are picturesque and you can see along the cost into Broken Bay and the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Also there are great views back over the old tombolo that links Palm Beach to the headland. The lighthouse itself has been there since the late 1800's and still well preserved built with the natural sand stone of the headland. unlike the lighthouses we see in the UK it is not painted.
Just at the start of the paths up to the lighthouse there is a marker pointing out the position of an old Customs House.
