点评：We went on a tour of the Eco Barge headquarters yesterday to see the amazing work they do. From the moment we arrived, Libby and Rachel were so friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about making a real difference — not just by cleaning up rubbish from the ocean, but by finding innovative ways to repurpose what they collect!
We started the experience by sorting plastic bottles and learning what can and can’t be recycled. Then we enjoyed a fascinating presentation on the different types of plastics and how each one affects the environment. We also met “Ken and Barbie” — the impressive machines that break down plastics into tiny pieces, which the team then uses to create new products. It was eye-opening to see how much effort and care goes into every step of their process.
The highlight of the tour was meeting the rescued turtles that the team rehabilitates and nurtures back to health. It was such an inspiring experience — definitely worth visiting, and even better if you can get involved and volunteer!
