Highly recommended for a GREAT tour even in atrocious weather!

点评：I went with Katlatrack on a brilliant private super Jeep tour to Maelifell and the region north and east of Myrdalsjokull. The weather was truly awful, with driving rain and lots of mist. A number of the backroads had been closed because crossing the swollen rivers was considered highly dangerous. I wondered that morning whether it would even be worth departing. But I need not have worried. Katlatrack's wonderful guide, Davis, arrived exactly on time and it was clear from the outset that he wasn't going to let "a little bit of rain" discourage him. He turned what could have been a washout into a memorable experience as we explored the unworldly Icelandic highland scenery, wreathed in an eerie mist. After an intrepid (i.e. very brave) crossing of the swollen of the Holmsa river, he drove across the black sand desert of Maelifellssandur, now submerged in run-off - until Maelifell itself emerged majestically from the mist. On the way back, Davis took a detour to a "secret canyon," hidden at the end of a long farm track, where we were clearly the only people for miles around. He even threw in a river crossing which involved driving along the top of a waterfall! All in all, it was a great, adventurous day out and I cannot recommend Katlatrack highly enough. As a (very) satisfied customer, I am confident that,, with their local knowledge and cheerful, can-do attitude, Katlatrack can provide you with a great tour to places that are probably too adventurous for you to visit by yourself - even on days when you take a look at the weather and wonder if staying in bed would be preferable - and you will come away with unforgettable memories.
