点评：Last Sunday, I joined with two colleagues from Germany and France a hiking group organised by "oneway tour", most of whom came from Armenia or lived in Belarus or Russia and had Armenian roots.
Our destination was the southern peak (3,879 metres above sea level) of the four-peaked Aragats (the highest peak is 4,090 metres above sea level), which is not only the highest mountain in Armenia but also the highest mountain in Transcaucasia. The volcano is very old, estimated to be 60 million years old.
From Yerevan (880 metres above sea level), we took a bus to Lake Kari (3,207 metres above sea level), already covering an altitude difference of around 2,200 metres. We then had to climb 672 metres on foot over 8 kilometres in a beautiful mountain landscape with colourful flora.
The hike was full of enriching encounters, a dreamlike mountain landscape and an unforgettable experience of nature.
