Great experience on a mountain with many myths attached ...

点评：Went up the Pony Path on a mercifully clear , if cool, day (a relief after a recent bad weather experience in the Lake district !) Ascent is strenuous enough I suppose ; quite steep in parts ; but only a couple of really scrambly bits , most notably just before the summit. Otherwise either rocky steps or flat sections , all easy enough. For the most part the path is clear and you can see where it is leading as long as visibility is OK so hard to get lost. Anyone moderately fit won't have a problem.
Took me about 2hours 20minutes to go up and similar on descent , including photo stops : and there are plenty of lovely views to enjoy , either en route or from the top.
They say if you spend the night on top (presumably in the stone "hut" just below the summit) you will either go mad or come down as a poet : I declined to test the theory ;)
Not as crowded as many popular climbs and easily accessible from the well maintained car park (though the co-ordinates for said car park are only "approximate" so you might need to drive a little further to find same)
Recommend to anyone who loves the mountains.
