The highlight of our Scotland trip!

点评：We did a lot of things while we were in Scotland but this was hands down the absolute highlight of our trip! If you’re looking for a truly bespoke experience, you really cannot miss a trip to Lurgan Farm and meeting Gert and his team of working sheepdogs. This is not a timed/choreographed “show” with a tour bus of people you don’t know but a very intimate and unique experience one-on-one with Gert where he introduces you to each of his dogs and explains each individual dog’s strengths, their training, and the valuable role they play herding sheep on the farm. These dogs are incredibly well trained and it was evident that they adore Gert just as much as he does them. It’s not scripted at all and he encouraged questions and you get to meet all of his very friendly dogs. After the extensive intro, Gert then gave us a demo of his dogs in action and what each of the whistle commands meant. The word impressive doesn’t even come close to describing seeing these dogs at work. After the demo, we then got to bottle feed two baby cows and two lambs (which was an add on). We had such an incredible visit and it’s not something we will ever forget. If you’re debating on whether or not to visit Lurgan Farm if you’re traveling to Scotland, don’t hesitate! It’s very reasonably priced and absolutely worth it. AMAZING TIME!!
