点评:We did the 9 pm session. There was a short planetarium show (to allow it to get more dark out) followed by stargazing on the roof. The big telescope was amazing. It was fascinating to see it and learn how it worked. We saw Jupiter and its moons and a “double star” with the big observatory telescope. The amount of stars visible with the naked eye was incredible and it was great to have someone to help identify them. There were multiple smaller telescopes set up for viewing as well.
We were outside for most of the program. Dress appropriately! It was chilly the night we were there. They had some blankets available.
I think this would have been 5/5 on a normal night. One of the staff had called in sick so it was just the one astronomer with our large group. He was incredibly knowledgeable and a great teacher but he was pulled a lot of different directions that evening. We were kind of left to our own devices to operate the smaller telescopes when he went to check in the later group.
The program was expensive but if you are into space and astronomy, I think it is totally worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed by adults and teenagers in our family.
Signage for this is not great. Found the gondola and took it to the top. Not really any staff around at the top this time of day. Wandered around a bit to find the planetarium.
