点评：My wife and I stayed at cabin #4 at the South Sulphur Unit of Cooper State Park July 2024. The cabin is secluded close to the water's edge and has a picturesque view to the lake.
But the steps down to the cabin are brutal. If you have a bunch of stuff to carry, (and you do because there is hardly any ilmenites) you will find out it is a slow, hard chore to make the trip a dozen times to get it all in. No easy way just work to unload and load your vehicle.
As far as the fishing is concerned the problem is with the lake ie the of baitfish for the general sport fish population. When the biologists say it has an adequate amount that means just enough to keep fish alive. All the fish we caught were skinny with big heads compared to their bodies. When you stock it year after year with hundreds of thousands of hybrid striper you better have something for them to eat to reach harvesting size which is 18 inches. In turn the lack of baitfish affects all other species too including the blue, channel, and flathead catfish we caught.
