Additionally, I encountered behavior that felt unaccepting, which left me feeling unsafe as an attendee.
Unfortunately, this attitude extended beyond the festival grounds. In my interactions with taxi drivers, cashiers, hotel staff, and shuttle workers, I rarely encountered friendliness or a sense of appreciation toward visitors. It was disappointing to feel unwelcome as a guest in a country whose economy benefits significantly from tourism during the summer months.
The costs associated with basic services also seemed unnecessarily high, with €20 charged for a short trip of just 1.5 miles. While I understand peak season rates, the unhelpful and negative attitudes made the experience even more frustrating.
One particularly odd rule was that parts of the beach were closed, even though the festival was advertised as being “on the beach.” This felt counterintuitive and unnecessarily restrictive.
As someone who has attended festivals around the world with friends from various countries, this was one of the most disheartening experiences we’ve had. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this festival based on my experience.
