Ormond Castle的点评
点评：I thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of Ormond Castle, most certainly open and not 'closed until further notice' as it states on TripAdvisor.
The guide was excellent, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
The tour takes you into the Tudor Manor House built by the Earl of Ormond in 1565 onto an already exciting and much older castle, the ruins of which are also accessible. 90% of the tour is in the Manor house rather than the castle grounds.
You get to see the long hall, the Earls office with his 4 poster bed, the attic and the tower with its Chapel at the top. There are other furnished rooms on the tour too with all items of furniture original to the time period, though not necessarily from the castle.
There's an audio visual room too.
As I'd always say, if you elect to go, try to do a guided tour as you get so, so much more from your visit.
