点评:Went to a house and garden event at Boughton today.
Absolutely pathetic number of stalls.
The highlight was a valuation quiz by the Auctioneers, Gilders.
The items available were more valid on a Village Fete Craft Stall.
Indian Street Food was priced as if the Street in Question was Bond Street.Radio Moron blaring out did nothing to raise the already downmarket feel of the place .
The house tea room offered little variety, and was again very expensive for what was available.
Im happy to pay when the quality is there..but this was poor.
We had opted for a tour of the house.
A number of us assembled at 130 as one part of the on line event stated that as an open time.
This was incorrect so we had to wait until two.
It was interesting to note that the House guides are treated with equal lack of consideration as they were left waiting with us in the cold until someone bothered to let them in..then us 5 mins later.
It is sad that Boughton could not be bothered to open fully given they had an "event"on.
They only opened for 2 one hour slots,it was made obvious that we were on a budget visit as we saw about half a dozen rooms, one of which was full of empty cabinets...historic air samples from the estate, perhaps?
The room stewards had minimal knowledge knowledge and there is very little labelling information.
We visit a number of Historic Houses and frankly this was abysmal.
