A Disgrace to the Arkansas State Park System

点评：This Arkansas State Park was a major disappointment. We stopped to have a picnic and learn about the Civil War History in this area. We are also trying to visit all 52 Arkansas State Parks. My husband and I couldn't believe this was a State Park. We were expecting something more along the lines of a smaller Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. What we found was a Jenkins Ferry State Park sign, three small historical markers, and an area that looked like park personnel hadn't been there in years. The grass was tall and unkept. There were huge branches all over the place including on some of the picnic tables. The wooden picnic tables were dilapidated and some were covered in moss. We choose not to picnic there. I was really surprised that this area was even part of the Arkansas State Parks System. Someone has definitely fallen down on the job in maintaining this place. Unless you need to get your Arkansas State Park Passport Stamp, don't waste your time on this park. If you do need a passport stamp to complete your book, be sure to bring a pencil to make a rub at the passport station sign.
